THE UNIFORM

Regulations
At all times the uniform must be well fitted, clean and pressed, and shoes are to be clean. The tie is to be tied at all times. The uniform should be worn with pride and represent a student’s school spirit. A student who consistently refuses to wear the uniform correctly will be asked to leave the school since she exhibits no pride in herself nor in her school, and by her dress indicates that she does not wish to be part of the school. The uniform is to be worn at all times while the student is on campus, including before and after school.

Basic Uniform - Not Including Senior Privileges

Skirt or Pants
Navy blue from Cambridge Uniform Company or other
distributor providing it falls within the school dress code (polyester blend or gabardine) Skirt length must be no more than 4 inches above the center of knee

Blouse
All white blouse with a button down front, long or short sleeve or polo shirt with or without SMA logo. Solid white undershirt long sleeve or short may be worn.

Sweater
Navy blue cardigan button up or pullover with or without SMA logo.

Vest
Navy blue, with or without logo.

Sweatshirts
Navy blue crew pull over or zip up with or without SMA logo, (NO HOODED SWEATSHIRTS ALLOWED). Tunics may not be zipped up to cover blouse or ties.

Socks/Tights
Solid white or solid navy; knee high or crew cut. (No anklets, footsies, tennis socks allowed). All socks must cover the entire ankle. All tights must cover the entire foot.

Jackets
Navy blue stadium jackets, SMA letterman jacket, or fleece with or without SMA log are the only outer wear allowed on campus.

Please Note: Non-uniform jackets, sweaters, or outer wear may not be worn on campus, including break or lunch time.

Ties
1. Must be worn with pride and dignity.
2.Ties must be tied and worn properly around neck.
3.Ties should be clean and tied at all times.
4.No writing or graffiti on ties.
5.Ties must be worn around neck only.

Oxfords
1. Traditional saddle Oxford-Black & White or Blue & White.
2.Tennis Shoe Oxford-Navy & White or Black & White.
3.White shoe laces only, laces must be worn at all times.
4.Shoes must be clean.
5.Students may not write on shoes.

Headbands
1. Solid Navy blue only. No more than “4 inches wide.
2. Solid White only. No more than ‘4 inches wide.

Caps/Scarves or Head Wraps
None may be worn inside.

Scarves/Gloves
SMA logo only - May be worn outside only.

SMA Beanies
Not to be worn in building

Walking
Navy blue with a cuff; walking shorts or Bermuda

Shorts
shorts must be no more than 4 inches above the center of the knee.

Belts
Solid navy blue, black or white, 2” to 4” inches in width, leather or cloth. Wide, large, spiked buckles are deemed inappropriate and may not be worn. Students are allowed to wear a basic 2”-4” blue, black, white leather or cloth belt. School Administration reserves the right to determine inappropriateness of dress.

SMA “spirit” apparel is not part of the basic uniform.
