Curriculum
Graduation Requirements
Saint Mary's Academy is a college preparatory school and students are expected to maintain at
least a C average (2.0) in all academic subjects: Religion, English, Mathematics, Science, Social
Studies and Foreign Language. Students take six courses per semester and sixty (60) credits each
year in attendance are necessary to graduate.

College and University Requirements
The University of California System/CSU System -- Students must successfully complete a specific
sequence of high school courses in the subjects listed below. Fifteen units of high school work will
complete the Subject Requirements; at least seven of the fifteen units must be earned during the last
two years of high school.
Eligibility for admission depends on a grade point average of courses taken in grades 10-12 in combination
with scores on SAT II or ACT tests. (SAT II Tests are required for UC schools only.) Students must
satisfactorily complete subject requirement to enter the University of California System and the CSU
System (see a-g requirements below).

UC/CSU eligibility depends on a grade point average in six subject areas combined with SAT or
ACT scores and the SAT II in writing, math level 1 and a third exam in an area at the choice of the
student.
Saint Mary's Academy requirements meet most other college and university standards. In all cases,
a strong four year academic program successfully completed, including the senior year, is required.
The requirements for grade point average (GPA) and SAT/ACT scores vary with individual
institutions.
